Originally from London, Zara Madrusan moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2013 with a strong desire to elevate the hospitality industry and its standards of service across the country.
Before arriving in the land down under, Zara studied a Master of Theatre & Performance Studies at King's College London, specializing in immersive events and the relationship between hospitality and performance art. While living in London, Zara worked as a host and events manager at the Experimental Cocktail Club. She also had a role in production and marketing for Future Cinema, a popular immersive film and theatre company.
In addition to overseeing brand development, marketing, and event activities of Made in the Shade group, Zara Madrusan co-authored A Spot at The Bar (2016). The book has received international praise and a nomination at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Awards
Proud owner of Bar Margaux, the Everleigh, and Heartbreaker, three famous bars in Melbourne, Zara believes that cocktails have something very unique to offer and that stories can be told through the creation of good drinks. But even more than this, Zara believes that cocktails are about creating unforgettable guest experiences.
Now, as a Hospitality Consultant at Bartender's Choice Consultancy, Zara works with esteemed clients such as The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne, Delaware North Australia, Tarda in Fitzroy, and Radio Social Club in Lilydale. Her belief in the power of cocktails to create unforgettable guest experiences continues to guide her work, blending her expertise in hospitality with her passion for storytelling through drinks.
